Scott McCarthy, a local builder of custom luxury homes and a preferred builder at Halifax Plantation, recently bid for and won the right to build the 2003 Showcase Home.

"We were thrilled Scott McCarthy chose one of our large estate lots to build it on," said Tom Jarosik. Lot 29 in section 8 is a one and one-half acre site with large oaks, overlooking the eight and ninth fairways. It’s just a magnificent piece of land.""The estate lots are awesome," agrees McCarthy. "And when this home is completed, the "magic" of the estate lots will be even more apparent."

McCarthy has christened his 4,469 square foot Showcase Home Villa Constancia, reflecting the Italian influence of the architecture."Everything we’ll try to do is very authentic to that style. We’re really going to capture the details and the ambience of an Italian villa, with influences from the Mizener style.

"Villa Constancia will be set back a full 147 feet from the road, beyond a circular drive and an entrance courtyard. Exterior details include richly-colored stucco walls, a barrel tile roof, concrete balustrades and wrought iron gates. Cut coquina accents, wood corbels under the soffits and curved wrought iron rails at the bronze windows add some old-world touches.Finishes, amenities and details in the home are lavish, and include an inlaid stone and tile entrance foyer.
